radioactive plumes, which blew across eastern Washington and Oregon.
My family lived in Pendleton for five years, from l956-1961,
downwind of the Hanford Reservation. My two sisters and brother were
in elementary school. My dad was a chaplain, my mom a teacher. We
lived in a blue house on a hill. My parents didn’t know about
Hanford then. It was on the other side of the river, in a different
state...
